Friends, with this website, we are glad to introduce you to Villa Cilnia and its wines. We have four refined qualities of red wines - Ross’Oro igt, Chianti Colli Aretini docg (that is "denominazione di origine controllata e garantita", an Italian definition for a guaranteed and severely controlled quality of wine, precisely: "denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin"), Chianti Colli Aretini Riserva docg ("denomination of controlled and guaranteed origin"), Vocato igt ("Indication of geographic tipicity"), Cign'Oro igt ("Indication of geographic tipicity"). Our Company started producing wines in Bagnoro di Arezzo, in 1960. Since 1994, due to the transfer of title, to a new team of managers, and to the experienced guide of the oenologist Franco Bernabei, Villa Cilnia has been given a substantial boost. After many years of care, zeal and enthusiasm, our wines are now beginning to meet with outstanding successes. The authoritative Luca Maroni's "Guida dei migliori vini italiani", and the well-known Gambero Rosso - Slow Food's "Vini d'Italia", and "Vini di Veronelli" and L'Espresso's "Guida ai vini d'Italia", together with several other important magazines, consider our wines among the best of Italy. In this website, you will find all the information you need about us, or our addresses. But you will also be able to read the true story of Gaius Cilnius Maecenas, a celebrated patron of arts and letters in ancient times, who gave his name to Villa Cilnia. We will do our best to honour his name and we hope to be appreciated as humble but steadfast guardians of the art of wine making. And whenever you

Motorway A1 Florence - Rome, exit sign: Arezzo. Keep on driving towards Arezzo for about 5 Km (approx. 3 miles), along the whole junction. At the end of the junction, follow the ring road towards "Sansepolcro". After 4/5 km (approx. 3 miles), you should be on the Main Road No. 73: turn left, still towards "Sansepolcro". Drive along for 2 Km (approx. 1,2 miles), then turn left towards "Arezzo": Villa Cilnia's road signs will be on your right. Villa Cilnia is only 2 Km away from here. HAVE A PLEASANT TRIP! |
